Quad vs Buggy Safari — which one is right for you?

Both run the same Pamucak trail, 2 hours, same sea-break. The difference is the vehicle, the seating, and the feel. Here's how to decide.

The Experience

Quick decision matrix:

• Solo traveler, age 16+, wants adrenaline → quad • Couple, one drives, partner co-pilots → buggy 2-seater • Family with kids 8+ → 4-seat family buggy • Group of mixed comfort levels → mix of quads + buggies in convoy

Detailed comparison:

Quad — €30 per person. One bike, one rider, 16+ minimum age. You twist the throttle, you steer, you feel the suspension on every bump. Solo riding gives you the most freedom and the most adrenaline. Couples typically take 2 quads side-by-side. Standing up on the foot pegs is allowed (and fun).

Buggy 2-seater — €70 per buggy total (€35 effective per person if 2 ride together). Side-by-side seating, driver + passenger, roll cage and harness. More like a small dune-car than a bike. Driver steers with a wheel, not handlebars. Better for couples who want to ride together (one drives, one is co-pilot with hands on the rollbar).

Family 4-seat buggy — €110 per buggy. Adult drives, 3 passengers (kids 8+). Roll cage and 4-point harnesses on every seat. Single-vehicle family option — no convoy needed.

Speed: similar (we cap quad at 40 km/h, buggy at 50 km/h). Comfort: buggy wins (better suspension, less wind, harnessed in). Adrenaline: quad wins (open, exposed, more body involvement).

For cruise port days with 6+ hours: pick whichever fits your party. For first-timers nervous about engines: 2-seater buggy with experienced rider as driver.

Frequently asked

Is buggy safer than quad?

Roll cage + harness means lower injury risk in a fall. Both are safe in our environment (controlled trail, capped speeds, briefing). Buggy is the more conservative pick if you're nervous.

Can a couple share one quad?

Yes — driver up front, passenger behind with arms around the driver. Most fun for couples who both ride motorcycles already. For others, buggy 2-seater is more comfortable.

Which gets better photos?

Quad — more dramatic body language. Buggy photos look more like a family-friendly car. Our photographer captures both well; if you have a preference, mention it.
